Another year and another Malvern’s Classic.
This year was bigger than ever, welcoming over 22,000 people to Eastnor deer park which sits in the middle of the Malvern hills. The weekend is a mixture of bike racing, best trick competition, lake rides, partying and of course the centrepiece Dirt wars.
This year was a mega one for the Halo team, with riders from all around the country attending to sign autographs, race and compete in some of the biggest events. Throughout the weekend we were showing off some of the best Halo has to offer, including our latest team edition Chaos wheelset and a range of new merchandise….we even had some limited edition bucket hats that went down a treat.
On Saturday we hosted our biggest team rider signing session, with Matt Jones, Finley Davies, Jake Atkinson, Tam Peley, Leo Smith, Charlotte Lucy-Thompson and eventually Ben Deakin all giving people the opportunity to come away with a signed poster and the experience to meet their heroes in real life.
On the competitive side of things there was a selection of amazing events that the team took part in. Friday night was whip off and best trick, which Matt, Fin, Ben, Jake all took part in with great success, Jake walking away with best trick!
Then Saturday was the big show that is Dirt Wars, with Fin Davies coming third in the elite’s and Matt Jones competing for the first time in years and its safe to say everyone was super stoked to see him back! Special mention to Jake Atkinson who was looking strong coming off the back of an amazing year competing in FMB events.
Sunday and it was time for 4x and although sadly there wasn’t a national champs jersey in it for any of the Halo team, all of our riders made it down safe and with a smile on their faces. With Matt Hillyard, Jack Hudson, Ben Deakin and Maz all taking part in what looked like a really fun round of the 4x series. The final round is at the end of Sept at our local Twisted Oaks bike park if you are interested in heading along to check out the action.
And that wraps up the Malvern’s for another year. We can’t wait for a bigger and better 2025 edition of the ‘Glastonbury of MTB festivals’ See you there!
