Halo Mantradrive 750 hub

Optimised Rim for Dirt Jumping

The Chaos rim has been specially developed with a 22.5mm internal and 28mm external width. Halo found this to be ideal for Dirt Jump wheels. It allows tyres between 2″ to 2.5″ to seat optimally to the rim, which is the most common choice for Dirt Jumping.

Due to priority of reducing rolling resistance and lack of turning corners, dirt jumpers run higher pressures which do not require a wider rim for optimal sidewall interaction. Therefore, it made sense to keep the rim narrower and save on weight. Wider rims result in a greater weight penalty.

The Chaos found the right balance between weight and strength for Dirt Jumping

Mantradrive

150 Points of Engagement: Mantradrive 750 uses 5 leaf spring pawls on a 150-point engagement drive-ring, the system delivers near-instant engagement with only 2.4 degrees of rotation, our highest engagement hub to date.

Durability Under High Torque: Built to withstand the stresses of high-torque applications using CNC machined Cr-Mo axle and freehub.

Enhanced Load Distribution: By incorporating 7 engagement teeth per pawl instead of the conventional single tooth, the system spreads load more evenly, increasing longevity and reducing maintenance.

Cr-Mo Freehubs: The freehub is made from chromoly for superior durability and reduced cassette bite on HG-splined cassettes. Internally weight-relieved to achieve both strength and lightweight.
6902 Bearings: The integrated Cro-Mo freehub and driver allow more useable space for the bearings. This enables substantial 6902 sealed bearings to be used in the freehub for improved durability and easier servicing worldwide.

Wideboy Front Hubs

Dirt Jumpers don’t need front brakes, as slowing down is not usually the goal. With this in mind, we threw out the disc mount. This allows for as wide flanges as possible which improves the strength of the wheel by opening the angle between the centre of the rim and the spoke direction. Ultimately, this maximises the strength to weight ratio.

DJD Rear Hubs

As with the wideboy, wide spoke flanges are key to the strength of the DJD. On the rear though, the disc mount had to stay for emergency exits.

The DJD uses a bushed driver which reduces weight and improves durability over and above cartridge bearings, particularly when using compact sprocket sizes. Sealed main hub bearings help ensure longevity. At the core of the hub is a lightweight but strong hollow alloy axle.

Available in Supadrive with 120 engagement points or Bushdrive with 30 engagement points.
